It's pretty darn hot here, for northern California! Upper 90's. I've been spoiled since leaving L.A., and am no longer used to crazy-hot temps.
Your cat is ADORABLE! I listen to my kids and the dog, but also to the neighborhood ducks and geese. They often show up on our front lawn, knowing that the sucker (i.e. ME) will feed them old bread.
And today all the traffic on our road was stopped while a mama duck and her 8 tween ducklings waddled across the street. Very cute!

Do you blog out of Windlows Live Writer? Numerous times I've hit "publish" instead of "save draft." I always get mega embarrassed about it. But we'll just call it a sneak peak of the awesome content to come ;)
That post was really interesting! I read it on Reader and hurried on here to comment. Thanks for sharing that information about the bread and cereal, among other products. Another thing to consider: the kcal/g for protein, carbohydrates, and fats are not exactly 4, 4, and 9. Different proteins actually have slightly different kcal/g. I don't want to quote numbers because I might be wrong. (I am too lazy to check my textbooks.) Also, another product to consider is the "fat free" butter sprays and Pam. The calories are reported to be REALLY low on the butter spray because the calories are for one short spritz. In reality, the calories add up quickly! And one last thing, anything under 0.5 g does not need to be reported. So a "fat free" product may actually have up to 0.5 g/serving, which also adds up over time. I never thought it would be hotter in SOUTHERN CA than it is here in NC! It's definitely quite a bit cooler, though we've had lots of rain recently so it's also humid. BAH! Fingers crossed you won't have any fires!
I love that picture of Samantha - my poor cats have been doing everything in their power to get our attention lately. Someone else (*cough* Chloe *cough*) has been ruling the roost.
