Iceland: Hey, if it's good enough for the Bachelorette, it's good enough for us.
| The Blue Lagoon- The famous geothermal spa...not the one with Brooke Shields and that hot guy that disappeared forever from the entertainment world. |
| Remember the pesky Volcano? It took out this road. That's why it's part gravel. Our GPS wasn't aware that it had been repaired and advised us to go on a detour- of 900 miles- to get to the other side of the flood zone. |
| One of about a zillion waterfalls |
| Location of one of my morning "Country-Road Workouts" |
| Curiously, these guys were rubbing butts...tee hee |
| I love the 3rd guy- what a look! And he has quite the head of hair. The 2nd guy looks like he's wearing a bad toupee. |
| Moss-Covered Lava | | |
| Clouds in the distance on the mountain? |
| Nope, it's a glacier |
| Just doing my part as the dorky tourist. |
| Surreal Moonscape |
| Icebergs |
| Check all the waterfalls in the background- they are at least 100s of feet high |
| Wildflowers everywhere |
| One of many interesting churches |
| Scenes like this simply took my breath away |
| View from a farm house where we stayed |
| Looking out our window- can you hear me squealing over this little fella? |
| About 11pm |
| Ha ha: seemed funny at the time. |
| We could pronounce precisely none of the Icelandic Words. |
| My knight on a black horse (um, that was cheesy) |

DUDE, you weren't kidding. Those photos are gorgeous. I'm most intrigued by the pictures with all the waterfalls in the background. Never in my life have a seen a picture with multiple waterfalls. Crazy. I would have been squealing my head off over that little guy too.
Note to self: Must find a way to get to Iceland.
Wow! I can see why you'd wanna go right back. My aunt & uncle now have a friend who's going - EVERYBODY'S going!
Not sure when we'll get a vacation next but it's now on the list!
LOL Horsey hair!
Awesome pictures!!
great photos...beautiful scenery
Beautiful, beautiful! I can't believe you can say you've been to ICELAND! How many people can say that?!
AMAZING photos!!!
Wow - who knew Iceland was beautiful?
The written Icelandic language is seemingly a college dare or a drunk spelling things backwards. I hope at least Icelanders (?) know what it means.
I want D's Osaka t-shirt; it's very cool.
In other words, welcome back!
It looks so gorgeous there! I hope you are having the most wonderful trip. And thanks for sharing such awesome pictures with us!
Amazing photos! Amazing place! Those wildflower pictures look like bluebonnets...the Texas state flower. I would have never guessed you would find them in Iceland of all places! Anyway, I'm a regular blog reader of yours and sure have enjoyed your stories and smoothie creations! And I was in awe when i found out that your dad was the writer for Who's the Boss! That was one of my favorite shows back in the day! He seemed to be such an interesting man...and you a lucky girl to have him as your dad...and my condolences for your loss.
-Neslie from Austin, Texas
Jenn, Carbz, anyone wanting to go there: apparently it's not that crazy expensive as it's on the way to Europe from the US. So I've been told that they have weekend deals that take you to Europe via Iceland. Not sure the deets, but I think that the show The Bachelorette gave tourism a shot in the arm and Iceland Air are doing "deals" now. Check it out some time for the future.
Neslie- wow, what a sweet comment. Thank you so much for de-lurking and saying all of those nice things about Dad. And Blue bonnets? Very cool- they were EVERYWHERE!!!
There is something deeply beautifu in the frank austerity of Iceland. I am, as always, deeply jealous of your travels!
gorgeous pics~
WOW...I mean WOW!! I'd never think to go to Iceland but it truly is breathtakingly beautiful!!! GREAT photos Deb!
