Confession: I’ve only read one or two ‘Wordless Wednesday’ posts on other blogs and they were weeks or months ago. Therefore I do not remember exactly how closely a blogger must stick to the “Wordless” part. Is it totally “Wordless?”(as in NO words?) or just simply “Less Words?” (get it…LESS WORDS, WORDLESS WEDNESDAY?) So for my purposes today, I will go with Option #2 if that’s ok with you.
After my Dad passed away, I felt the need to take a little road trip and visit friends and family. It is that trip that will be pictured here. I will provide captions and links where appropriate. I hope that you don't mind if this post is not entirely “wordless”…
The Omni-present "Blogger takes photo of Self" Photo
Adopted Grandparents, Barb & Chuck, owners of Lompoc's, California's 1890 House B&B Chuck, a retired air force chaplain, performed our 10-year Vow Renewal.
After Tiff went home to Washington, her mom and I lunched and attended this super-fun Zumba class together (sadly, this particular video is not exciting. We were over in the back right of the room) When I grow up to be Tiffany's mom's age, I still want to shake my groove thang like she does...
Liam & Linette (how cute is he??)
Zany friends Rudy & Linda
A Favorite Desert Hike
Leaving the lovely desert
"Ahem, it's about time you came home"
To many people, this might have been a boring photo journal of my little summer road trip. But for me, writing (or not writing...'wordless', remember?) this post gave me a little bit of closure to the last chapter of my life. That feels kind of nice.
No time to rest now. We're off on another adventure...details to come. As you may have already noticed, I have wonderful guest bloggers lined up. So please come back and say Hi to them!
I loved this! Your trip looked awesome. I particularly loved those green-tinted photos. Is that from the iPhone app? They look like you took them ages ago.
Such a cool post, Deb. So many great photos and they tell such an important story for you. Thank you for sharing. (I particularly love the one of Samantha on the the couch. He he.)
Like you, I adore being on the road. Simply adore. I feel so at peace, so free, and excited beyond words for the sights and sounds that lie ahead.
Awww, makes me want to hop right back on a plane and come down. Thanks for being MOC's pal!
Derby understands that with his frail heart he cannot offer Samantha the future that she deserves. His exact words were "Whatevs." He still plans to see her on the side.
Loved this post and getting to see the faces to many of the people you told me about. I have such great memories from our day together. And I will be writing more to you about this but the OMG is OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs!
Deb, You look gorgeous in all of these photos, especially loving the one of you with Lindsay in Napa.
Such a fun road trip, and you got to hang out with some of my favorites - Lara and Miss Carbzilla herself. Both are so sweet, and I hope to meet them in person someday.
It's 2:40 AM - is it weird that I would kill to eat at Nick's Pier and Boat shack right now? Hehe.
Wow, the open road agrees with you. You look stunning. (And of course, it's all about how we look, right? ;) ) So many lovely moments captured on film, er, digital memory.
Great post! I love road trips (although they can be a bit challenging with a toddler); so glad you got to take yours and connect with so many special people in your life!
Oooh Deb, I think it is awesome that you were able to take this little road trip to see family and friends. And blog friends. :)
While I do miss your more frequent smoothie posts, a Wordless Wednesday is fine by me every now and then. I truly hope you are well. I think about you often. (Whenever I read HEAB and open up my container of protein powder, really, both of which happen quite frequently!)
Maintaining a 90+ pound weight loss after a lifetime of weight cycling, I'm blogging to share my journey to find balance with food and exercise in this thin-crazed world. And to make you look at photos of my cats. I hope you'll pick up a tip or two; or just have a laugh. You can email me at LASmoothieGirl at gmail dot com. Thank you for reading!
