What happens when a gal runs out of Guar Gum?

This is a pop quiz:

A) She curses Whole Foods Market for not stocking it like Clark’s Nutrition does. And she curses herself for not buying more of it when she was last at Clark’s. By the way, Clark’s is the best health food store on the planet. Sadly there are only THREE stores in Southern California but they do have internet shopping. Think: all of the selection (and more) of Whole Foods without the crowds or the ridiculously high prices.

B) She feels compelled wear far too much makeup and put on a 60’s outfit for a secret project that will be revealed in due time. Hint: it was inspired by this special guy.

C) She contemplates giving her smoothies to her kitty because they separate and therefore become revolting and unfit for human consumption.

D) She decides to go on a little road-trip and find solace and kinship with wonderful blogger friends and watch her smart, kind & gorgeous cousin graduate from High School.

E) All of the Above.

I will show you some photos to give you hints.

Separation anxiety- look at that sad smoothie.

By the way, I have not forgotten about the last installment of my reader Good, Bad and Funny Photo posts. I will share that one next week. Trust me, there are some doozies. Let’s just say that some Protein Goddesses sleep with dogs.

Q: What do you do when you run out of a favorite must-have kitchen item? Do you stock up like it’s 1999 on your absolute faves/must-haves? Or do you just buy-as you go?

Oh you are gorgeous! Please let me buy one of these secret projects.

I stalk up on xanthan gum, almond butter, stevia, spinach, frozen strawberries, cocoa powder and almond milk, and when I get low, there's no distance I won't go.

Hope you have a lovely week!!!

You crack me up!

I can't really think of anything that makes me nuts if I run out of it. Sea salt? Oh that's so boring. I know eggs. I can't live without them and buy 6 dozen a week. Contemplating getting chickens.

I said it before but I'll say it again: I love your smoothie photos! And the photo of you and Jenn is so great--is that the app she suggested that makes them look vintage?! It's great!
It was so lovely to spend Saturday evening together. I always feel lucky to spend time with you, Deb! Thank you for always making time to see me when you're in my neck of the woods :)

Looks like a great weekend! :)

Oh I almost NEVER run out of must haves - I am far to paranoid to let it happen...I keep doubles and triples of my favorite stuff.

Is that weird or smart?

You're so funny Deb. I tend to overstock and if I"m about to run out, then I make sure to restock. Unfortunately, my guar gum is running low as well as I've been venturing back into the world of protein ice-cream, and it is available nowhere in Nashville. Thank goodness for online shopping!!!

Jealous of all your northern Cali blogger meet-ups. Looks like you enjoyed your road trip!

Hi Deb! Former lurker coming out of the shadows to tell you how sad I was to hear about your Dad. I lost my Dad two years ago and I still miss him terribly. Re the guar--I will never know what it is like to run out...I am overflowing with it. I ordered it online and somehow ended up with a case! Sheesh!! Would be happy to pull a bag or two out of my freezer and send it to ya!

Deb (Smoothie Girl Eats Too) said...

Lyn- I'm sorry about your Dad too. I can imagine that in two years (and 20), I'll still be missing mine. Thanks for delurking to share that with me.

Re. your generous offer for the guar...how sweet! And great timing as I was just going to break down and order some guar for my return home. I would be ever-so-grateful. Can you email me at dentaldebs-at-aol-dot-com? thanks heaps!
