Grab your blowtorches people because this smoothie is HOT HOT HOT!!
It is:
- Spicy
- Nutty
- Blond
For those who might not be familiar with Lady Gaga, you could nickname this smoothie the Britney Spears (remember the shaved head and driving with baby on lap?) or the Melanie Griffith (some outbursts and demanding everything around her be yellow?). Your generation, your blender, your choice.
Truth be known, this smoothie is similar to one of my favorites, the Holy Mole Smoothie, but without the chocolate.
Here is the lineup of usual suspects:
- Water, ice
- Scoop Protein powder- vanilla
- Tablespoon of Sunflower or Peanut butter
- Few drops of almond EXTRACT (If you want to go chemical- use your Torani Peanut Butter but don't say I didn't warn you that it's addictive)
- Sprinkle of stevia or other sweetener
- Sprinkle of Xanthan gum (~1/8 tsp)
- Sprinkle of Guar gum (~1/4 tsp)
- Dash of Chipotle powder
- Lots of cinnamon powder (if you have a Vitamix- use a whole piece of cinnamon)
- Blending while wearing torpedo bras, spandex pants, platform stilettos: optional. But could be fun.
- Setting your blender (or lovers) on fire: highly discouraged.
If you want something spicy & sweet from south of the border, check out my guestie over at Pimp My Protein Shake coming out tomorrow, Monday 1/11/10 (oooh, cool number). *****

Looks delish! x x
What a good idea! I definitely wrote that one down to try later :)
It sounds so good!! I love any change from the normal shake.
Bahhaha, I love the lighter next to the smoothie in that photo!! I have never seen peanut syrup before. Now that is something I'd like to get addicted too...
This looks great!! And I love your smoothie's name!! :)
Hope you're having a great weekend!!
"Your generation, your blender, your choice." Ha ha. :)
Did you mean a few drops of almond "extract".
Love the volume...can't beat if for 250 calories!!
What's your brand of chipotle powder? I can't read it in the picture. I'm checking the "email follow-up comments" box. Yay, I finally remembered. :)
For 250 calories, I think I'm gonna have to cross over to the gum side finally! That looks amazing. I will search your blogs for where you get your gums - I can usually find one but not the other.
(and I see a Cadh and Carry trip in my future - they carry a bazillion Torani syrups. I love the Egg Nog and have no regrets about the chemicals for one minute.)
I love, love, love that triangle-shaped bowl. I think Kath over at katheats has the same one. Where did you get it? I have total bowl envy and NEED it for my smoothies!
hah. i was going to ask the same as sarah. where'd you snag that bowl? i think i am taking the plunge and buying the gums today! hope i can find them. i have a lot of smoothies on my meal plan this upcoming week (lots of fruit to use up!) and so i think i must get the gums and be as cool as you.
hope your weekend has been a fun one~ hanging out with allie i presume?
love you!
Mmm. Sounds really good! :-)
Tam- how are the shakes working out for you? DIdn't you recently get the gums and some powder?
Heabs! Will you be my editor please.- yes I meant almond extract not almond butter- wishful thinking. I changed it. ALso the brand of chipotle is Tradewinds-which might?? be Smart & Final's own brand- it's only expired by 4 yrs so in my pantry, that's a young vintage.
Susan- please feel free to cross over to the dark side with me, but don't say I didn't warn you! :-)
CarbZ- once you go gums your life will not be the same.
Sarah & Janetha- YES I had major bowl envy too- then I went to a dinner party and the hostess had it so I got the name: TRIGG by Crate & Barrel- and get this...they have a HUMUNGOID one that I use for my HJ salads every day! LOVE LOVE LOV ELOVE LVOE LVEOLVELOFEODLLDLLOVE it. well you get the idea.
And yes, hung out with Allie- she is about a billion times more amazing than she seems on her blog, if that even could seem possible. And so is her sister- lovely people!
I'm waiting for the Auburn version of this - The Susan Sarandon? The Julia Roberts? The Julianne Moore?
Love it spicy!
xoxo,
Protein Girl
"Your generation, your blender, your choice."--LOL
Sunflower seed butter AND some sort of Torani syrup, i.e frankensyrup...your words :) and this looks like a smoothie I'd go Gaga for. Like my lil joke there :)
xoox
Protein Goddess- oh, good idea. Hmm, let me come up with a good one and I'll give you 1% credit like I always do when I steal your brilliant ideas! Hmm, red, red. I'll think of something!
Averie- Ha ha! LOve your Gaga joke- thanks!!! :-D
This: Your generation, your blender, your choice." Made me laugh so hard! As always, your smoothies look delish! Although the nuts on top look like English Toffee pieces to me You can see where my mind is...!

P.S. I had to comment and let you know that even though it's kinda funk, I LOVE the smell of paws! My kitties are indoor and use pine litter and I kiss the pads of their paws all the time! They smell like dust :) I love it! OMG and polar bear paws...the best!
Charlotte- your mind is in the dietary gutter- but what a great idea- eng. toffee as a topping. nom!
Naomi- I love her too. Stay tuned- I've got another post at some point where I have her included- I laugh just thinking about it.
Brittac- yay for your bad self- glad you're lovin' the gums. Seriously I couldn't be smoothiegirl without them.
