Apologies to the non-cat lovers here. This must be torture for you. I hereby give you permission to just go away and tackle your Google Readers. The rest of the cat-lovers can stay and see how this small creature never stops entertaining me.
Yesterday was Daylight Savings day, you might remember that yesterday I wanted to take my extra, "free" hour and use it to fold four huge loads of laundry. But as there was a fuzz-convention on the bed, I got side-tracked and spent the better part of the day hunting and killing a few metric tons of cat hair.
By today, there was now 5 loads to fold and I had my work cut out for me. Naturally, Sam decided to move from the bed to the pile of clean laundry.
After moving Sam and folding some laundry, I left the room to prepare my lunch. I heated up my food and went outside. When I came back inside to wash up, Samantha was on top of the kitchen countertop (bad kitty) licking the juices from the inside of the bowl. She looked very awkward and shifty as usual- caught in the act of doing something naughty.
You might be wondering what kind of delicious food would lure her all the way up there and risk getting into trouble? This is where I get the last laugh.
Texturized Vegetable Protein, Soy Protein Concentrate, Bahaha!
Can you hear me giggling in New Brunswick?
All I can say is that if she goes for my Thai Peanut Seitan jerkey, she's losing a paw. Consider yourself warned, kitty.
Q1: What weird things does your animals like to eat? My Dad's dog used to eat broccoli. It seems so wrong.

Here's another confession for you: I am not a cat lover. Well, I used to be, but when I was 12 my beloved cat, Pearl, was run over by a car on Christmas Eve and since then, I do not attach.
I am, however, a Deb lover, so I read your kitty posts nonetheless ;)
And "Bowm Chickie Bowm Bowm"? I think I know where that was copied from!
I'm with Lara in that I'm a Deb lover, so I would read even if you followed the life of your goldfish. I stopped by my mom's last night and Wendell, the one-toothed feline wonder, was laying on the bed right next to "her" blanket--thought of you.
Let's see...she doesn't eat much unusual stuff (see note about no teeth)but does like yogurt and PB. Good taste, no?
I was just about to say that Sam has been reading your blog, when that was the next sentence that came up in your post.
I don't remember when I've laughed so hard - - just hysterical.
And the photos confirm everything you say non-cat lovers would say "imagine")
But we know. PURRRR HA HA HA
Hahahaha I definitely heard you laughing. :)
Your cat is so, so silly. As are you, my dear.
Oh my gosh, I am always messing up my cut & paste. There is no telling what I have accidently emailed people in the past.
My dogs love raw zucchini. They get so excited when they see me get out my spriralizer b/c they know they get to eat the zucchini ends. The only veggies they don't like are raw spinach and raw mushrooms. Their favorite treats are apples, sweet potatoes, and any kind of nut butter.
I had caught a typo and added something to the post last night and it went into the Blogmuda Triangle- sorry peeps. I changed it. (better late than never right?)
Thinny- aw, I'm sorry about Pearl. The hurt must have been deep. Thought you'd recognize BCBB. :-)
Abby- that is the sweetest compliment- thank from the bottom of my heart! I want to hear more about Wendell- do a post on the one-toothed wonder!. Yogurt and PB- I'll fight him for it!
Rhoda- Sam was just little Miss Blog-Me this weekend- such a goof!
Beeks- yes very silly. It's uncontrollable.
HEABS- I believe the correct term is "zucchini schlong"...Averie should trademark it! :-)
I have two FAT cats...and this post cracked me up. My boy cat has the worst attitude -- he'll look right at you, knock something precious off the counter, and sit calmly licking his paws.
Just 'cuz he can, don't you know.
I can hear you laughing in Beantown Deb! I really love the colors in your bedroom. So bright and cheery. And although I have never really owned a pet and I have nothing to contribute, I still like reading about your cats!
Oh Deb Deb Deb!!! I am in kitty heaven with all the pics of Sam! That is TOO funny about the veggie dog. I discovered a while back that Louise loves Weight Watchers Giant Fudge bars. Oddly enough she hasn't taken to other brands or kinds of ice cream...just the WW chocolate fudge. Minnie proceeded to jump on the kitchen table and lick my bowl clean of oat bran, pumpkin and almond butter. She did this all behind my back, keep in mind...little monkey.
You're lucky Samantha will continue to sleep on the fuzzle blanket now that it's on the bed! We tried that with Louise, who laid on her blanky for a little while, and then decided it wasn't good enough for her. Alas - the cat hair (now doubled because of Minnie) has returned.
I love, love love this post.. :)
