Well, one of my favorite guys anyway...don't want to offend the hubby or the bro-man!
I took my Dad over to my favorite gym- aka a 5-story staircase- it overlooks the Pacific Ocean and sometimes dolphins will swim by- can you imagine how lucky I feel? I want him to get stronger- he's been battling various cancers and is currently in a clinical trial and doing great. But he had to cut back on our hiking (his great cardio training) due to the trial. As there's a lull right now I thought I'd get him out there again and he really enjoyed it. I usually do the stairs for the better part of an hour- I have always loved stair climbing! What a massochist! :-) See the helicopter flying below? Love that.
- I go through phases in my training world where I love some activity soooo much that I do it so much I either get injured or bored. This has happened countless times: long-distance cycling, step, boxing, boot camp, weights. Eventually I return to each of them, but at a more reasonable level. For example, I joined a 24-hour Fitness in Inglewood (about 20+ minutes from the house) solely because it has THE BEST kickboxing class Wednesdays and Fridays (Mark teaches for my peeps in the LA area)...we're talking: wringing out your top and gallons of sweat come pouring out. I did it so often and intensely that I ended up with a bunch of little injuries. I still go but not with the frequency I did before. Might go tomorrow, fingers crossed!
Then sometimes I burn out of training completely- those are the times I hate. I know that I have a tendency to over-train when I'm not injured, so that naturally leads to burnout. I guess my injuries are my body's way of telling me to ease up! I always joke that I have just one single injury...it just spends its time moving around my body from week to week. ;-D

Gorgeous views! I might like stair climbing if I could look at that! Hope your dad stays strong. It is so hard watching parents age.
Erika- Thanks- he's doing really well right now and we want to keep it that way! :-)
One hour on those stairs? I would die. You know I've been there with the injuries Deb. Learning to listen. Signing up for some Iyengar when I get home. :)
WOW...that looks like San Clemente! Where do you live in CA if you don't mind me asking? That is one major workout!
